Gyeongbokgung is a palace located in Seoul, South Korea. It is the main as well as the largest palace of the Joseon Dynasty and one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built by the Joseon Dynasty.

Parts of the Gyeongbok Palace were demolished and transformed to create the headquarters (Government House) for the Governor-General of Korea during the Japanese colonial period.

Today the palace is open to the public. The National Folk Museum of Korea is located inside it. The National Museum of Korea was there too. Now it es closed for its relocation and opening in Yongsan in October 2005.
