HK 53 - Definition and Overview

Although its manufacturer Heckler und Koch states that the HK 53 is an assault rifle because it fires the 5.56mm NATO round, it may still be classed as a submachine gun because of its small size. The gun is useful because it packs the punch of an assault rifle and has the size of a SMG.
