HMS Triumph was a Swiftsure class ironclad battleship that was launched in 1870 and commissioned in 1873. She had a displacement of 6910 tons, a length of 291 feet and an armament of 10 x 9-inch guns, 4 x 6-inch guns, but once refitted in 1892, her secondary armament was decreased to 4 x 5-inch guns.

In 1882, there was an explosion onboard Triumph that heavily damaged the battleship, killing three crew, two during the explosion, and one who later died of horrific wounds he had received during the tragic accident. Seven other crew were injured, some seriously.

In 1892, she was placed in Reserve. She became a depot ship at the beginning of the 20th century. She became a training ship three years later at Chatham. She was then renamed Tenedos the following year to free the name for a new pre-dreadnought. In 1912 she was again renamed, this time Indus IV. She became a stores ship at Invergordon and then was renamed Algiers in 1916. She was scrapped in 1921.
