Haeju - Definition

Haeju is a city in North Korea located in Kangwon Province near Haeju Bay. At the beginning of 20th century, it becomes Sino-Korean strategic trade port, it is the administrative centre of South Hwanghae Province too.

Famous tourist attractions:

  • Puyong Temple,
  • Haeju Tarani Temple,
  • Decodar, Pine Tree, Apricot Tree, Pear Tree, Pagodas.

The neighboring scenic spot includes: Suyangsan Falls, Sokdamgugok, Fort on Mountain Suyang and Sohyonso Temple. It is also home to Haeju University of Education. Haeju has chemistry enterprise and cement factory.

Transportation

Haeju has a military and civilian dual purposes air station (HAE), with a 12/30 runway.
