Hamilton Tigers - Definition

This article is on the ice hockey team. For the Canadian football team, see Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Hamilton Tigers were a ice hockey team based in Hamilton, Ontario from 1920 to 1925. They had relocated from Quebec City, Quebec where, for the 1919-20 season, they were known as the Quebec Bulldogs. The team played in the National Hockey League. In 1925, on the eve of their first berth to the Stanley Cup championship, the players went on strike. In retaliation, the NHL suspended all the players, forfeiting the league championship to the Montreal Canadiens. They moved out that year to become the New York Americans.
