Hamish Carter (born 28 April, 1971) is a New Zealand triathlete.
He competed in the triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics but despite being favoured to win was 26th.
He won the bronze medal in the triathlon at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and then went on to win the triathlon gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics as a 33-year-old, comfortably leading home his close friend, rival and fellow New Zealander, Bevan Docherty.
