Hampton is a city located in Henry County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,857.

Geography
Hampton is located at 33°22'53" North, 84°17'22" West (33.381522, -84.289573)1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²). 11.1 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.69% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,857 people, 1,411 households, and 1,049 families residing in the city. The population density is 347.1/km² (899.6/mi²). There are 1,525 housing units at an average density of 137.3/km² (355.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 84.16% White, 13.38% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 1.06% from two or more races. 1.74% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,411 households out of which 41.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% are married couples living together, 14.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 19.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.12.
In the city the population is spread out with 29.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 35.4% from 25 to 44, 17.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 92.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.7 males.
