Hariprasad Chaurasia (born 1 July 1938) is a famous Bansuri flute artist.
Born in Allahabad, India, he was a student of Pt. Bholanath Prasanna and Annapurna Devi. As a performing artiste, Chaurasia is as much a traditionalist as he is an innovator, preserving the traditional indian style of Ragas, as well as playing with jazz musicians like John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek and Chris Hinze.
