Harlon Block (November 6, 1924 - March 1, 1945) was a marine during World War II. He was photographed in Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima during the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Block was born in Yorktown, Texas, to Ed and Belle Block, to a family of Seventh day-Adventists.

After his death, there was some controversy as to who it was picture in the photograph. The family of another man claimed it was their son. Eventually Ira Hayes came forth to settle all doubts that it was, in fact, Block.
