Hasil Adkins is a rockabilly musician. This label is a reference to his rural life in Boone County, West Virginia. His sound has been described as being a little like Elvis Presley meets The Shaggs. He recorded scores of small, micro-label 45s. He also invented his own dance, called "The Hunch".
After the mid-1990s, he began performing less and became an advocate to music critics and celebrants of all things outsiderish, such as Joe Coleman and Norton Records.
