Hatteras Island is an island in the Atlantic Ocean that runs parallel to the coast of North Carolina, forming a bend at Cape Hatteras. It is part of North Carolina's Outer Banks and includes the towns of Rodanthe, Salvo, Waves, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras.
