Hadhrat Moulana Muhammed Qasim Nanautavi (Rehmatu LaAllahi) was the founder of Darul Uloom Deoband. Moulana (Rehmatu LaAllahi) studied from the greatest scholors of his time including Shah Abdul Ghani Mujaddidi and Maulana Mamluk `Ali Nanautvi. He was a disciple (mureed) of Hadhrat Imadadullah Mahajir Makki. He was also given the Ijazah to continue to sililah.
He participated in the 1857 war against British Colonists.
He was a great religious scholor of his times. He started Darul Uloom Deoband which very soon became a centre for the muslims of India to come & study the true teachings of Islam. He wrote many outstanding books.
He died at a very young age of 49, but what he did it takes centuries for people to do.
