This Help page refers to the Template:Canadian City which is used as a standard template for displaying City Information, specifically Canadian Cities.

The Template contains contains a standardized formatting for various information relating Cities. Information includes, City Flag †, City Coat of Arms †, City Area, Population, Time zone, Latitude Longitude, current City Mayor, the Cities' Governing Body (Municipal), and the city website.

†: indicates an optional argument that can be removed using different settings.

Parameter descriptions

The following describes some of the template modifying parameters.

"Latitude Longitude"

The "Latitude Longitude" parameter should contain information formated as follows

Latitude Longitude=00º 00' N<br>00º 00' W|

"Time zone" uses {{Time zone is:XXX}}

Time zones include: "PST" for Pacific, "MST" for Mountain, "CST" for Central, "EST" for Eastern, "AST" for Atlantic, and "NST" for Newfoundland Standard Time.

So "Time zone=AST|<tt>" will give "Atlantic: UTC -4" in the Time zone field of {{Canadian City}}

<tt>"Area=100.0|" :will produce "Area: || 100.0 km²

and

"Population Density=1000.0|" :will produce "Population [[Density]]:||1000.0/km²"

"Postal Code"

List a span of postal codes, for example: if a city has postal codes starting with Z1A; Z1B; and Z1C; these could be represented as "Z1(A-C)".

"Extra references"

use the following "External references" for extra information at the bottom of the info table.

i.e. a page named "Ottawa, Ontario" would have the image location reference name "Ottawa,_Ontario_Location.png" and would be linked to using "[[Image:Ottawa,_Ontario_Location.png]]"
