Herne Hill railway station - Definition

Herne Hill railway station is a train station in south London, England, on the South Eastern mainline from London Victoria station to Kent, and on the Thameslink line from Luton to Wimbledon.

The two services in the direction of central London share an island platform. This allows easy interchange and has a coffee bar and waiting room for connecting passengers. There is a similar interchange between southbound services, but fewer passenger facilities on this platform.

There are rumours that the Victoria Line may be extended to Herne Hill to provide faster turnaround at the southern end of the line.
