Hifikepunye Lucas Pohamba (born August 18, 1935) is a Namibian politician from the South-West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) ruling party who won the presidential election of November 15/16, 2004 with 76% of the vote, in what has been described as a "landslide". Pohamba is often considered to be Nujoma's hand-picked successor.
