Hikari (光市; -shi) is a city located in Yamaguchi, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 46,496 and the density of 776.88 persons per km². The total area is 59.85 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1943.

On October 4, 2004, Yamato became part of Hikari.

It is connected by railroad with a train station and route 188.

Hikari is bounded with Yanai, Kudamatsu, Shunan, Tabuse in the Kunage District and Shuto in the Kuga District.
