In the Artemis Fowl children's book series, the fictional character Holly Short is a LEPrecon officer who was abducted by the twelve year old criminal mastermind Artemis. She is the first girl in Recon and her commander Root is insulted that she was assigned to his group. She is a great shuttle pilot, a quick thinker and a true policeman, or in her case woman.
She has an auburn crewcut with hazel eyes and a chatty mouth. She is only one centimetre under the average height for a fairy and has a gymnast-like stance. She also has a good sense of humor that accompanies her cockiness.
She became friends with Artemis after many adventures, but she would never admit it to anyone, although Foaly the centaur has already guessed.
She will be the only one who will be able to save the People if Artemis Fowl comes back.
