Holt Renfrew - Definition and Overview

Founded as a hat shop in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, in 1837, by Irishman William Samuel Henderson, Holt Renfrew is a high-end Canadian department store.

The chain has locations in Ste-Foy, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto (on Bloor, and in Yorkdale and Sherway Gardens), Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. There are also "Last Call" end-of-the-line stores in Thornhill, and on Portage in Winnipeg.

The Bloor, Montreal, and Edmonton locations include holt's café, an informal abient diner-like restaurant concept, that features famous tartine made from the world-renowned Poilane bread that’s flown in directly from Paris.

Holt Renfrew was named "Store of the Year" by the esteemed National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers at its 33rd annual Retail Design Awards (RDA).\

The store actually offers "The Holt Renfrew Card from American Express", a branded credit card designed exclusively for Holt Renfrew by renowned designer Roberto Cavalli.
