History

It was originally developed by Bradbury Software (founded by Nick Bradbury). In March 1997 Allaire Corp. from Cambridge, Massachusetts (founded by Jeremy and his brother J.J. Allaire) acquires HomeSite and Nick Bradbury joins Allaire. After leaving Allaire in 1998, Nick continued to work on the CSS/xHTML editor TopStyle. Macromedia acquires Allaire in 2001. Some dedicated HomeSite users have criticised Macromedia for neglecting the tool in favor of the more expensive Dreamweaver editor.
