Horrorcore - Definition and Overview

Horrorcore is a genre of hip hop music that evolved out of acid rap in the early 1990s, inspired by pioneers like Kool Keith Esham and The Gravediggaz. Other influential performers and groups that can be considered horrorcore include TNT, Triple 6 Mafia, Mastamind, Necro, Twiztid, Anybody Killa, Insane Clown Posse, Bedlam, and Blaze Ya Dead Homie.

The BBC ( British Broadcasting Corporation) has done a wonderful radio documentary on the rise of horrorcore. The website is www.bbc.com/1xtra and then click on the left on "documentaries".
