Hundred-Year Darkness - Definition and Overview |
The Hundred-Year Darkness is a fictional conflict from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. This mysterious conflict has never been shown, only referred to. It occurred about 7,000 years before the movies (or 7,000 BBY), and apparently lasted about 100 years.
Nothing more is known about this conflict. The concept of a war lasting for about a century is possibly based on the historical Hundred Years' War. The latter was a conflict between the Kingdoms of England and France that lasted from 1337 till 1453, so actually lasting for 116 years. Thus, it cannot be assumed that this fictional conflict lasted exactly a hundred years either.
