I, Max - Definition and Overview |
I, Max is a television sports commentary show with former ESPN boxing analyst/host of Around the Horn Max Kellerman and former Boston Globe columnist Michael Holley that airs on Fox Sports Net. It involves Kellerman and his ego (explaining the name of the show) against the world, represented by Holley, with Bill Wolff as the "impartial" mediator.
The show is divided into segments, the first being Kellerman and Holley arguing over the day's sports topics. In the second segment, the two take new roles similar to those in Pardon the Interruption, with such themes as "I Object", where Max and Michael lambast each other over the two sides of an argument, with Bill Wolff as the honorable judge. The third segment is an interview with a sports figure, ranging from sports columnists to actual athletes. Finally, the last segment features Max reading short emails about topics (sports or otherwise) written by viewers via email. Depending on who wins each argument Wolfe will award "rounds" to either Max or the World. If Max wins the best of 15 rounds, Wolfe reads love mail that viewers e-mail to him. If Max loses, Wolfe reads Max's hate mail.
