IFPI - Definition and Overview

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is a trade organisation representing the recording industry. The federation has 1450 members in 75 different countries. It aims to fight music piracy, promote market access and copyright laws for its members, and developing laws and technologies suited for the recording induststry in the digital era.

The organisation's international secretariat is seated in London while it has regional offices in Brussels, Hong Kong, Miami, and Moscow.
