IPodLinux - Definition and Overview

The title given to this article is incorrect due to technical limitations. The correct title is iPodLinux.

iPodLinux is a µCLinux-based Linux distribution which is specifically being developed to run on Apple's iPods. Besides the kernel, the other primary component of iPodLinux is podzilla, an application which provides an iPod-like interface and support for basic MP3 playback.

As of 5 February 2004, the first three generations of iPod have successfully been able to run iPodLinux, with development for fourth-generation iPods (as well as the iPod mini and iPod Photo) underway (no support is planned for iPod Shuffles).
