"I Drove All Night" is the name of a song recorded by 1980's icon and singer Cyndi Lauper for her third album "A Night to Remember," which was released in 1989. While the album was not as successful as her previous releases, the song was a radio hit in the USA and a number one hit in other countries.

The track was originally penned for singer Roy Orbison, who reportedly declined it. However, on hearing Lauper's version he decided he liked the song after all, and subsequently covered it; it would appear on his posthumous King Of Hearts album. The track has since been covered by many others too.

"I Drove All Night" was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, writers of many hit pop songs such as: "Like a Virgin" performed by Madonna, "True Colors" also performed by Cyndi Lauper, "So Emotional" performed by Whitney Houston and "Alone" which was performed by Heart.
