Ian MacDonald - Definition and Overview

Ian MacDonald (October 3, 1948 - August 20, 2003) was a British music critic.

Life

Ian MacDonald was born in 1948. Primarily a writer with interest in many kinds of music, he was Assistant Editor of New Musical Express from 1972 to 1975. He also worked as a songwriter and record producer.

MacDonald committed suicide following a lengthy period of clinical depression.
