Ibuki, Shiga - Definition and Overview

Ibuki (伊吹町; -cho) is a town located in Sakata District, Shiga, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 5,858 and a density of 53.66 persons per km². The total area is 109.17 km².

On Feb. 14, 2005, Ibuki will merge with Santo and Maihara towns to form a new city called Maibara-shi.
