Ikebukuro - Definition and Overview

Ikebukuro (池袋), a part of Toshima ward, is a large commercial and entertainment district of Tokyo, Japan. Ikebukuro Station is the busiest subway station in Japan and the second busiest railway station overall, second only to Shinjuku Station.

Sunshine 60, one of Tokyo's tallest buildings, stands on the site of Sugamo Prison in Ikebukuro.
