The Department of Industry, also referred to as Industry Canada, is the department of the government of Canada with responsibility for regional economic development, investment, and innovation/research and development.

Industry Canada is involved in the Modern Comptrollership Initiative, which seeks to modernize the management practices of the Government of Canada.

The Department is located at the C.D. Howe Building at 235 Queen Street in Ottawa, Ontario.

The current Minister of Industry is the Honourable David Emerson. The Parliamentary Secretary is Jerry Pickard. The Minister of State (Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario) is Joe Comuzzi and the Associate Deputy Minister is Carole Swan.
