International University Bremen (IUB) is an independent research university in Bremen, Germany. IUB was founded in 1999 by the collaboration of the government of the city-state of Bremen, University of Bremen and Rice University of Houston, Texas.

IUB is a private, English-speaking university in Germany, where the vast majority of universities are part of the free public education system. IUB combines American and European university systems to form a system with a transdisciplinary approach.

IUB comprises two schools: the School of Engineering and Science and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
