Internet cartoons - Definition

An Internet cartoon is an animated video released for viewing on the Internet. They are often free, but sometimes a small fee is asked for. They are often animated in the Shockwave Flash multimedia format.

These have been becoming more popular in recent years: in the United Kingdom, for example, Weebl and Bob has been getting short showing on MTV and Joel Veitch's Rathergood animations got their own Channel 4 TV show under the title "Rathergood Videos".

A notable example is Homestar Runner.
