Interstate 27 - Definition and Overview

Interstate 27 is an intrastate interstate highway located entirely within the state of Texas in the United States. It goes from Lubbock, Texas at U.S. Highway 87 to Amarillo, Texas at Interstate 40. I-27 is a part of the proposed Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor which would link Denver, Colorado to Laredo, Texas and ultimately, Mexico.

Notes

  • Although there are currently no spur routes off of I-27, there is a beltway around Lubbock and an accompanying spur highway from the southwest side. There are arguments that the beltway (currently signed as TX Secondary Route 289) should be renamed I-227 and the spur highway (currently signed as TX Secondary Route 327) I-327.
