Interstate 595 (Florida) - Definition

Interstate 595 (Everglades Expressway), 12.860 miles (20.70 km) long, connects Interstate 75 in the west with Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, U.S. 1 and Interstate 95 in the east. When I-595 was first built it was called "The Highway to Nowhere" by locals because of little or no housing development at the exits, but now it is a major Interstate Highway in South Florida.
