The genus Ipomoea, with over 500 species, is the largest genus of the family Convolvulaceae. It includes the important food crop sweet potato, and I. violacea, the source of the Mexican psychedelic plant drug tlitliltzin. Species and cultivars of Ipomoea are popular in gardens for their stunning flowers.
