Isetta Isetta

Isetta - Definition and Overview

BMW Isetta
BMW Isetta

The BMW Isetta is a small, three-wheeled bubble car or microcar with one powered wheel in the back and two wheels in the front. The entire front is the entry door. The word "Isetta" is a combination of the company name of the Italian Iso the licensor of this model, with the suffix "-etta" indicating small.

Most Isettas do include the three-wheel feature, except for very few Isettas manufactured in GB that have 4 wheels (the rear two narrowly spaced).

Later developments led to a four wheel version (BMW Isetta 600).
