JBX Grill is the new line of restaurants introduced in 2004 by Jack in the Box Inc. They are classified as 'fast-casual', in the style of Baja Fresh and Chipotle Mexican Grill. JBX Grill features high-quality, cafe-style food, eschewing most of the cheaper fast-food items typically served at Jack in the Box. The architecture and decor maintains an upbeat, positive atmosphere, and the customer service is comparable to that of most dine-in restaurants.
Two prototype JBX restaurants were built in San Diego, California, before being fully converted to JBX Grill. The menu was closer to that of "classic" Jack in the Box, but featured many of the newer JBX Grill items.
As of January 2005, two JBX Grill restaurants exist in San Diego, California, and several more have opened up or finished construction in Bakersfield, California, and Boise, Idaho.
