Jacobean Jacobean

Jacobean - Definition and Overview

The term Jacobean refers to a period in English history that coincides with the reign of James I (1603 – 1625). Don't confuse "Jacobean" with Jacobin, a cognate word for a faction in the French Revolution, or with Jacobian, a mathematical term.

See Jacobean era.
