Progressive dance DJ/producer James Holden first appeared on the scene with his 1999 track, Horizons. Notable for being produced using only a single piece of free software - Jeskola Buzz - the track earned attention from numerous taste-making DJs. In particular, the patronage of scene doyen Sasha was a boon, and led eventually to a collaboration between the two on Bloodlock, a track from Sasha's artist album Airdrawndagger. More recently, his collaboration with vocalist Julie Thompson, Nothing, has earned attention from jocks as diverse as Deep Dish and DJ Tiesto.
