James Leo Herlihy (27 February 1927-21 October 1993) was an American novelist, best known for 'Midnight Cowboy'.
He also wrote 'All Fall Down', 'The Season of the Witch', and a number of short stories. He was an occasional actor ('Blue Denim'). He died by suicide on 1993.
