James Ogilvy - Definition and Overview |
|
|
James Robert Bruce Ogilvy is the elder child and only son of Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy, and The Rt. Hon. Sir Angus Ogilvy. He was born on 29 February, 1964.
His maternal grandparents are HRH Prince George, Duke of Kent (fourth son of King George V of Great Britain) and HRH Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, known after her marriage as Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent. Thus he is a great-grandson of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Helen Vladimirovna of Russia (later known as HI&RH Princess Nicholas of Greece).
Ogilvy does not hold any royal title. He has a younger sister, Mrs. Marina Mowatt (née Ogilvy).
He has been married to Julia Rawlinson since 1988, and the couple have two children: Flora Ogilvy (b.1994); and Alexander Ogilvy (b.1996)
At this time, he is the 33rd in the Line of Succession to the British throne. Ogilvy still remains in line to the earldom of Airlie.
