Joe Brown (born September 1930) is a British climber. He was the seventh and last child of a family in the Manchester suburb of Ardwick.
He was a famous British climber from the 1950s onwards, a member of the Valkyrie climbing club and founding member of the Rock and Ice climbing club. He created many new routes in the UK and abroad which were, at their time, in the hardest grades.
He made the first ascent of Kanchenjunga, together with George Band, in 1955.
