Joe Matt is an American cartoonist. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1963.
He is the author of the autobiographical comic Peepshow. Subjects are mainly dealing with his inadequate social skills, his addiction to pornography, and the lingering effects of his catholic upbringing.
His work is published in the magazine Drawn and Quarterly and his own title Peepshow.
HBO is currently developing an animated series based on "The Poor Bastard". Producers will include Joe Matt and David X. Cohen of Futurama fame.

Peepshow - The Cartoon Diary of Joe Matt, 1992
A collection of one page cartoons, usually dealing with a single subject, originally published between 1987 and 1991.
The Poor Bastard, 2002 Collects Peepshow #1 to #6.
This book chronicles the relationship and breakup with then girlfriend Trish.
Fair Weather, 2002 Collects Peepshow #7 to #10.
We get to know the preteen Joe Matt in 70s suburbia. He is already a cheapskate, ruthless collector and well on his way to becoming the poor bastard.
