John Alexander Waddell (1854-1938) was an American civil engineer known for his design of bridges.

His designs include:

  • Waddell "A" Truss Bridge (opened 1898)
  • Armour, Swift, Burlington Bridge (opened 1911)
  • Snowden Lift Bridge (opened 1913)
  • Cado Lake Drawbridge (opened 1914)
  • Outerbridge Crossing (opened June 29, 1928)
