John C. Dvorak is a popular columnist on technology, specifically that relating to computing. He is known for his sometimes outlandish ideas and controversal views. He writes for various publications, including PC Magazine (two columns since 1986), CBSMarketwatch, BUG Magazine (Croatia), and Info Exame (Brazil).

Dvorak has been a columnist for Boardwatch Magazine, Forbes, Forbes Online, MacUser, PC/Computing, Barron's Magazine, Smart Business, and Vancouver Sun.

Dvorak has written, or co-authored over a dozen books. He co-authored Hypergrowth: The rise and fall of Osborne Computers Corporation with Adam Osborne. His current book is Online! The Book (Prentice Hall PTR, October, 2003) with co-authors Wendy Taylor and Chris Pirillo.

Dvorak has won the Best Columnist and Best Column awards from the Computer Press Association. On the original start-up team for C-Net Networks, appearing on the TV Show C-Net Central. He also had a radio show called Real Computing on NPR, as well as a show on TechTV called Silicon Spin. Mow appears on CBSMarketwatch TV. 2004 Award winner of the American Business Editors Association's national gold award for best online column of 2003.
