John Flansburgh (b. 1960) is seventeen thirty-fourths of the rock band that is They Might Be Giants, for which he plays guitar, keyboard, and drums and sings.

Some side projects include his band Mono Puff; directing music videos for such artists and bands as Soul Coughing, Ben Folds Five, Frank Black and the Catholics, Harvey Danger, and TMBG themselves; producing albums and EPs, notably Muckafurgason's eponymous album; and writing the music for the Broadway musical People Are Wrong.
