John Giorno, Poet, AIDS Activist, Friend, Lover and subject of Andy Warhol's film Sleep.
While living in New York and working as a stockbroker, he met Andy Warhol in 1962. At that time he was in his early 20's. They remained very close until 1964, after which they didn't see each other much until Andy was dying.
