John Henry Kinkead - Definition and Overview

John Henry Kinkead (December 10 1826August 15 1904) was an American Republican politician who was the Governor of Nevada from 1879 to 1883, and the first Governor of the District of Alaska from 1884 to 1885. He was also the treasurer of Nevada Territory, from 1862 to 1864. He was born in Smithfield, Pennsylvania and died at and was buried in Carson City, Nevada.
