Professor Jon Burgstone, a businessman and professor, was CEO and co-founder of SupplierMarket. He sold the startup company to Ariba 362 days after it was launched, for $1.1 billion USD. This is believed to be the fastest $0 to $1B company in high-tech history.
Professor Burgstone graduated from Harvard Business School, after achieving finalist status in HBS's "Business Plan Contest" with his SupplierMarket concept. He is also a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Illinois
Currently he is a private investor and Faculty Chairman of The Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at the University of California, Berkeley.
