She is best known for living in an ancient redwood for 738 days which she named "Luna" to prevent loggers from the "Pacific Lumber Company" from cutting it down. She lived in a small 6-by-8-foot tree house. She only left the tree for a couple of minutes every day. Pacific Lumber tried to blow her from the tree with big transporthelicopters, without success. . In 1999 Julia "Butterfly" Hill founded with other people the Circle of Life Foundation. Julia Hill is author of the book "The Legacy of Luna". Weblinks
