Junichi Inamoto - Definition

Inamoto Jun'ichi (稲本潤一; born 18 September 1979 in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese association football (soccer) player.

Inamoto played for Japanse club Gamba Osaka during his last year of high school, signing with the club in 1998. He was then one of many high profile transfers of Asian players to Europe, signing with Arsenal of the English Premier League. Inamoto scored two goals for the Japanese National Team at the 2002 World Cup, but was released by Arsenal shortly after. He was then signed by Fulham, but following a fractured tibia sustained in a match against Manchester United, he returned to Gamba Osaka to do promotional work, before signing with West Bromwich Albion for a decidedly small €200,000 transfer fee. However, after failing to hold down a regular first team place, was loaned to Cardiff City F.C. for the latter part of the 2004/05 season.
